FIFA suspends Pakistan Football Federation

FIFA suspended the Pakistan Football Federation “with immediate effect” after the recently elected PFF Congress rejected the constitutional amendments proposed by the global football body. The Suspension means Pakistan’s teams barred from participating in international competitions until issue resolved. According to an announcement by the FIFA, the PFF has been suspended with immediate effect due to its failure to adopt a revision of the PFF Constitution that would ensure truly fair and democratic elections and thereby fulfill its obligations as mandated by FIFA as part of the ongoing normalisation process of PFF. “The suspension will only be lifted subject to the PFF Congress approving the version of the PFF Constitution presented by FIFA and the AFC,” said the statement.

Pakistan to host ICC Women’s World Cup qualifiers after Champions Trophy. Following the hosting rights of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for another prestigious ICC event—the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.  The tournament is set to take place in April across multiple cities in Pakistan. According to sources, six teams, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, Ireland, Scotland, and Thailand, will compete for a place in the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup.  According to the sources, The ICC would formally announce details of the matches soon. Bumrah ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025

Huge blow for India as Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025. The injury, which he had sustained during the Sydney Test in January, also forced him to miss the white-ball series against England. Bumrah, who had undergone a recent scan in Bengaluru, has not fully recovered from the discomfort in his back. Although the scan did not reveal any new issues, it was confirmed that Bumrah was still not ready to resume bowling. New Zealand chased down the target of 305 runs for the loss of four wickets in the 49th over and qualified for the final. After completion of work at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Karachi’s National Cricket Stadium is ready to host upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
